I mentioned that I liked DIY projects and I meant that. I am a sucker for a good project. ESPECIALLY if it is cheap, because of, you know, the budget crisis. This summer, I racked up on ideas on the good ole Pinterest. Out of all the wine corks, the mason jars, and the chalk board paint, I settled on building an out-door couch out of wooden pallets. Plain and simple.

My boyfriend, at the time, worked for a landscaping company which had an entire stack of sod pallets just sitting at their nursery. You shouldnt feel weird that I am talking about my ex. He was pretty involved in this project so we will just press on. Ben, said ex, loaded 9 pallets in his truck and brought them to my house.

After some sawing, laughing, screaming, crying, pouting, and sweat, we were able to cut the pallet wood down to the correct dimensions and stack them 3 high. OK it was mostly Ben doing the cutting.

Next we had to find the cushions. I found some cheap pillows from an online store called improvements.com and the decorative pillows from Etsy (my fav).

The real score of this whole project was the wire spool table that we stole from a homeless man. I thought it would look better on my porch as opposed to under the 280 overpass. The good news is, nobody has come looking for it, yet.
